Ezekiel’s Prophecies During Siege

“Over the two-year period of Jerusalem’s siege, Ezekiel’s prophecies concentrate on Judah’s many oppressors.  Like prophets before him, Ezekiel pronounces scathing judgments against these nations for their own wickedness and their many wars against God’s people.

Beyond the various judgments against Israel’s enemies which Isaiah, Jeremiah, and others have already brought, Ezekiel’s judgments condemn the celebration which will take place over Judah’s fall.  It will be the nations’ self-righteous gloating which will draw God’s wrath.  He will not sit idly by when his people are disgraced in the eyes of their haughty neighbors.”
