“Ezekiel now turns to the great maritime cities of Tyre and Sidon, whose seaports and trading fleets have made them wealthy.  The original city of Tyre was located on the mainland, whereas the new city was built on an island half a mile offshore.  Thus Ezekiel describes the destroyed island city as being like a bare rock, and the wicked king of Tyre apparently has such pride that he is compared with Satan himself.”
