Isaiah Warns Against Relapse

“Isaiah continues to warn the people against their sinful ways, and urges them not to let the excitement of this period of renewal diminish.  Once again he rehearses the basic message: if they abandon their newfound dedication, they will be destroyed.  And knowing already that they will indeed fail, Isaiah tells them again of Jerusalem’s fall.  The message is always the same, but the hardness of their hearts keeps them from hearing it.”
