Elisha the Prophet

Elijah is traveling from Gilgal to the Jordan River, where he is taken up in a whirlwind.  The clear implication is that Elijah never dies in a physical sense, but is in some special way translated into another realm.  Perhaps it is the same way in which Enoch ‘was no more.'”
