“While Ezekiel is dealing with the issue of punishment for the wicked, Daniel’s three friends are in the capital city of Babylon, about to be punished by King Nebuchadnezzar for being faithful to God.  Nebuchadnezzar erects a huge image which he commands all the people to worship.  When Daniel’s three friends refuse to do so, they are put into a fiery furnace.  But they are saved from death by the power of God, and Nebuchadnezzar is once again impressed by the God in whom they place their trust.”
