The Daily Bible doesn’t give commentary on today’s reading.  But these past few days, reading about David and Saul — the animosity and jealousy Saul has for David, while David’s respect for Saul as king is astounding.  This, right here, entering the 1st and 2nd Samuel books is why I so enjoy reading through the chronological Bible.  It is such a unique and wonderful way to read about the rantings of Saul and the struggles of David, as David offers pleas and gratitude over these experiences to God through the Psalms.

Oh, to have David’s heart…to inquire of God over every decision, to be in anguish over what may be chasing or awaiting him and yet turn it all over and to trust God fully, then as God provides protection and leading, offering thanks and gratitude.

It is no wonder that David is “a man after God’s own heart.”

“I HAVE FOUND DAVID the son of Jesse, A MAN AFTER MY HEART, who will do all My will.”
Acts 13:22b
