The Reign of Saul

“As the first king of Israel, Saul proves to be a courageous leader, but it is clear that he is only human and therefore fallible.  Saul’s disobedience to God will in fact lead ultimately to his rejection as king.  In sharp contrast to his father, Saul’s son Jonathan shows himself to be a man of great character.  His military exploits show a courage and strength not seen in Saul himself.”
